Determined to live a dark life in the company of the assassin who freed her from bondage, Sarai sets out on her own to settle a score with an evil sadist. Unskilled and untrained in the art of killing, the events that unfold leave her hanging precariously on the edge of death when nothing goes as planned.
Sarai’s reckless choices send her on a path she knows she can never turn back from and so she presents Victor with an ultimatum: help her become more like him and give her a fighting chance, or she’ll do it alone no matter the consequences. Knowing that Sarai cannot become what she wants to be overnight, Victor begins to train her and inevitably their complicated relationship heats up.
As Arthur Hamburg’s right-hand man, Willem Stephens, closes in on his crusade to destroy Sarai, she is left with the crushing realization that she may have bitten off more than she can chew. But Sarai, taking on the new and improved role of Izabel Seyfried, still has a set of deadly skills of her own that will prove to be all she needs to secure her place beside Victor.
But there is one test that Izabel must face that has the potential to destroy everything she is working so hard to achieve. One final test that will not only make her question her decision to want this dangerous life, but will make her question everything she has come to trust about Victor Faust.

My Review

Oh my freaking god.

This book...I am officially speechless. J.A. Redmerski has rendered me speechless and I love every single second of it.

After reading Killing Sarai, I jumped straight on board with Reviving Izabel, and my lord did this book amaze me with everything. I loved Killing Sarai, but Reviving Izabel was just so much more than that. I seriously just can't describe how much I loved this book.

Sarai, who I really loved in the first book, was just overwhelming in this one. She has grown so much through the first one and to see the change in her here was just perfect. Her character development, her personality, and of course her relationship with Victor, was completely exquisitely written and developed. And seriously, she has grown so much sass throughout this book that I'm starting to feel a bit scared of her in the end XD

“It doesn’t matter,” I say. “Let me just say for the record, right here in front of Pretty Boy and the Devil’s Advocate, the hell I went through is not only forgivable, but was absolutely necessary. I know what I’m involved in. We kill people, some of us for a living, some of us for revenge. I’m not working at a bank. A lot more than a background check and my credit score has to be taken into account if I’m going to be a part of this. And to be honest, I feel a lot safer around all of you knowing that you will go to such extremes to make sure that everyone in this room can be trusted. That anyone who joins us later will be put through the same hell.”

Sarai, or should I say, Izabel is one of my favourite most badass growing assassins ever. She is my loveee.

“Well…if you’re worried I’m going to fall in love with you and cling on to your every move, you don’t have to worry.”

“You’re not in love with me?” he asks and it seems like nothing more than a simple inquiry.

“No, I don’t love you, Victor.”

He nods, completely accepting it. “Good. Because I’m not in love with you, either.”

The relationship with Victor and Izabel in this book was beyond normal romance and it blew me away. I've said this in my previous review of Killing Sarai, but I will say it again. Redmerski goes through the development of patience and trust with the utmost precision that I love. Some books just skip straight to "love", but that didn't happen in this book. The development was almost step by step and I could literally imagine the growing trust between Victor and Izabel in my head. It was realistic and unique, and I love it so goddamn much.

In RI, we get to see a lot of Fredrik as well as Victor (*sigh*) and I have to say, not only do I love Victor and Izabel, I am also falling in love with Fredrik. He is such a mystery, a deadly one at that, but I just can't help but like him so much. All of the things that he helps Victor with just proves to me that he's trustworthy despite all of the secrets that lie behind in his past. Either way, I can't wait to see more of him.

The plot line in this book was absolutely per-to the-fect. It had a bit more action and blood than the first book, which I always love, and to mix that in with steamy sex and Victor, I think I would want to spend the rest of my life living in this world.

J.A. Redmerski absolutely blew me away with this book. She hooked me with every word and I literally sped through this book within a day. I am addicted to this world, and I seriously doubt I'll ever be able to move on. I am now jumping straight onto the third book because I can't wait any longer. I've already waited long enough while writing this review and the wait is killing me.

I love this book. I love this world. And I am falling in love with J.A. Redmerski. That is all.
