My Review

Holy mother shizzles of shizzle sticks and burnt marshmallows. Oh my god, that ending. That damn cliffhanger! I need to jump straight on to the next book because that ending has gotten me all messed up.

This book was amazing! One of the best books I've read so far this year and it will be one of my favourites. Love Me Never was absolutely brilliant, astonishing and incredible. It was hilarious and made me fall in love with Isis Blake literally two paragraphs into the book. When I picked this up, it was because of the new cover reveals, and I have to say, I was desperate for this book. The blurb wasn't anything spectacular, it seemed almost like a really cool contemporary that was perfect for a summer read. Except, it wasn't.

In fact, it was better than that. Way, way, way better.

We get introduced to Isis Blake, our main protagonist, and I fell in love with her with a click. I burst out laughing from the first chapter and everything else just kept falling into place after that. Isis is hilarious, and her personality is absolutely stunning. Throughout the book, we get to see little tidbits about her past and how she's emotionally scarred by someone when she was younger, and now she's accepted herself to be ugly. Now, it really killed me just wondering what could have possibly happened and how Isis dealt with it, but overall, I loved the suspense Ms Sara Wolf put us through. I can't even describe Isis' character because she was just phenomenal. She's like the best friend I never had and wish that I have. Seriously! I love her to bits!

“That’s not the point!” I slosh my soda in the general direction of everywhere. “The point is do you see that fine piece of ass over there who happens to be my kind of friend because she’s really into you and she’s the prettiest nicest goddamn girl in school and I only barely approve of you and if you crush her pure maiden heart I will pull your pancreas out through your nose and feed it back to you in a drip inserted into your anus is that clear?”

I laughed so hard at this I almost threw up my dinner :D

The side characters were brilliant as well. Jack, our hot-dude-who-needs-to-get-his-own-underwear-ad, Wren, Kayla, Avery (I really like her, actually) and Evans (yes, Principle Evans!). I loved them all! Although some of these characters did something bad in the book, I still couldn't help but like them. I felt like I connected with them all in some way and that was enough to make my cold heart burn for their weirdness. Yes, Isis has maybe gotten to me in some way because her hilariousness is just too contagious.

This book was just pure perfection. Like I said, I came into this book thinking it was just a normal YA contemporary, but when I finished this book, it just knocked me so hard in the head that I came out of it with so much more. This book dealt with some goddamn thick secrets because the suspense has my head in a spin. Not only did the cliffhanger left me hanging, there were so many questions left unanswered. Jack's secrets are the ones I am dying to find out about because that second-to-last chapter? Goddamn, what the hell was that about? I was so shocked.

This book, overall, has made me feel so much emotion in one day that I feel exhausted. I laughed, I sympathised, I had that little moment when I want to cry but I can't so I just have that little tiny seizure where a really painful tingling feeling crawl from my chest down to my toes, I got choked up, I got shocked so bad my jaw almost dropped to the floor, and last of all, I'm dying for more (hey, that rhymed).

But yeah. This book? It was brilliant. Absolutely jaw-dropping, lungs-clogging-up-due-to-too-much-laughter, painfully and lovingly brilliant. Thank you so so much Ms Sara Wolf for writing this amazing book.

About The Author

Sara Wolf is a twenty-something author who adores baking, screaming at her cats, and screaming at herself while she types hilarious things. When she was a kid, she was too busy eating dirt to write her first terrible book. Twenty years later, she picked up a keyboard and started mashing her fists on it and created the monster known as the Lovely Vicious series. She lives in San Diego with two cats, a crippling-yet-refreshing sense of self-doubt, and not enough fruit tarts ever.
