My son Zach is pretty standard issue boy material.Even without a "gun" type toy, he will figure out a way to throw, launch or hit another object. That's just the way it is!
And I've always been pleased with Discovery Channel items as they are fun, education, interesting and well made. When PBN contacted me about the next big thing in kids' toys, I knew somebody at my house would enjoy it.
So when we got the Discovery Bug Net Launcher, he drove me absolutely up the wall until he could go out in the yard and try it out. Trouble is, it was several days before it wasn't horribly cold and rainy outside at our house, the spring just never seemed to kick in and when that box came it was like dangling a big, fun carrot in front of the poor kid's face and not letting him at it.
It was cool but finally at least not pouring rain. We read thru the instructions and got it set up fairly fast and he was outside firing away at the little bug targets that came with. (***Disclaimer: my back yard doesn't look that horrible now, it was well before any spring clean up had occured...I told you the kid was driving me crazy to play with the toy!!!)
I read the directions (because I'm a good consumer like that) and after I showed him the first time how to put the net into the "gun" to launch, he could do it himself after that. And he was off and running...
He was so stoked by it that I had to do some video, he was setting those little bug targets up around all over the place! Check the smile when he covered the bug targets.
This isn't really a very hard review to write. It's a simple, fun toy. It's appropriate for the age demographic. It's well made and sturdy. It's at a fair price. And my son enjoyed it. Nuff said.
